Vendelux, an AI-powered event intelligence platform, raised $14 million in a Series A funding round led by FirstMark Capital with participation from additional investors. With the new capital, the Vendelux plans to expand its geographic footprint, enhance product development and acquire new customer segments.

Powered by AI and predictive modeling, Vendelux’s platform seeks to help event marketers and CMOs analyze customer and competitor behavior and make informed decisions about event attendance or sponsorship by analyzing 65 million data points from more than 160,000 global events and CRM integrations. Vendelux plans to use the footage to:

  • More than double its team by the end of 2024;
  • Connect the entire end-to-end journey of event marketers as they plan, execute and evaluate their event strategies; and
  • Build intelligence solutions for conference organizers.

“Events are the most important piece of the marketing and sales funnel, but it’s not always clear which events deliver the greatest return on dollars spent,” said Alex Reynolds, CEO and Co-founder of Vendelux, in a statement. “With teams operating off of different metrics — such as meetings, deals, speaking opportunities, etc. — it’s no wonder the success is so difficult to define. Year after year, [Vendelux’s COO and Co-founder] Stefan [Deeran] and I saw firsthand the challenges of evaluating which events were worthwhile to attend or invest in. We built Vendelux to solve those very challenges. Vendelux delivers the ability to both plan for and measure ROI so that, organization-wide, companies have an understanding of the truly massive impact events have on their business.”

HumanFirst, a low-code data productivity suite, securedCA$5 million in seed funding. The total amount was accumulated over the course of three smaller, safe-note financing rounds and led by Panache Ventures with participation from other venture firms and angel investors.

With the new capital, the company will seek to “unlock” the untapped potential of conversational data and turn it into business and artificial intelligence insights, to help enterprise teams collaborate, innovate and better understand their conversational data at scale.

HumanFirst’s intuitive interface, which combines human-in-the-loop labeling and data observation, to offer a more straightforward way for technical and non-technical enterprise teams to develop robust and scalable AI applications.

“The no-code movement is a profound shift in the software industry, empowering those without formal programming knowledge to create their own applications,” said Gregory Whiteside, Co-founder and CEO of HumanFirst, in a statement. “We are providing an essential bridge to this new reality by unlocking the potential of conversational data, which is difficult to understand and make useful. This funding will fuel our journey, allowing us to enhance our offerings and address our clients’ evolving needs.”

Metadata.io, an AI-powered marketing operations platform, acquired Reactful, a web optimization and personalization platform for digital marketers. This new acquisition aims to help B2B marketers convert existing site traffic to revenue, marking a milestone in the company’s growth following its $40 million series B funding round earlier this year.

Reactful will be integrated into Metadata’s Marketing Operating System to help expand its offering beyond paid advertising and reduce time wasted on manual and repetitive tasks. With help from Reactful’s technology, Metadata customers will hopefully gain a better understanding of engaging with target accounts on their website, personalizing that experience and augmenting their programs leading to greater ROI.

“As a 2X customer and stakeholder of Reactful, I witnessed the impact of personalizing the buying journey,” said Gil Allouche, CEO of Metadata, in a statement. “It’s now vital that world-class website experiences be the norm and have a level of visibility to laser target and drive substantial conversion uplift. At Metadata, we already optimize every stage of the ad process to reduce the amount of manual effort on the hands of B2B marketers today. With Reactful’s personalization engine, Metadata’s customers can provide a unique end-to-end experience based on the visitor (prospect, customer), the content they consume, or their stage in the buying journey. This is one of our first major steps towards building the Marketing Operating System for B2B, delivering value outside of just paid ads for our customers.”

The round brings the company’s total funding raised to $97 million. With the capital, Movable Ink plans to invest in AI-driven products and expand its more than 550 employee workforce to more than 700 by 2023.

Movable Ink was founded in 2010 by Sharma and Michael Nutt to translate a brand’s data into “content modules” that could be embedded in emails, websites and other digital platforms. The modules are programmed to update with personalized information such as pricing and inventory, offers and loyalty reward balances in response to a customer’s interactions, targeting content based on attributes like onsite or mobile behavior, preferred location and even weather.

“As investors from the beginning where we led Movable Ink’s seed round, we have been continually impressed with how the team scaled the business and delivered truly differentiated value for their clients and consumers alike,” said Matt Gorin, Co-founder of Contour Venture Partners, in a statement. “Over the past decade since its founding, even amid a global pandemic where many consumer brands were facing difficult times, Movable Ink saw consistent, organic client growth — a testament to the power of the platform, the team and its unique approach to solving a very important pain point for marketing teams. In addition to the powerful return on investment its platform delivers, Movable Ink is an extremely capital efficient business.”

The latest investment round brings QuotaPath’s total funding to $62.3 million.

QuotaPath plans to use the capital to expand its global team, deepen its investment in technical strategy and expand its product portfolio with more tools to track, automate and optimize compensation strategies. Additionally, the company hopes to increase its focus on helping customers with compensation planning, strategy and design. These initiatives seek to complement QuotaPath’s mission of creating the shortest path to maximize quota attainment and provide full visibility and access to track and automate commissions.

“My Co-founders – Eric Heydenberk and Cole Evetts – and I created QuotaPath in 2018 to solve a problem we saw firsthand while building our last startup: The way companies pay their salespeople is broken,” said AJ Bruno, QuotaPath’s Co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “After two years of carefully developing our product, we created a sophisticated-but-user-friendly solution to that problem and today’s round means QuotaPath can help more companies fix their broken compensation systems –– and, critically, retain their restless sales and growth teams.”

Looking ahead, QuotaPath’s Co-founders plan to build an ecosystem of partners that includes integrations with additional CRMs, ERP and payroll programs to house the entire commission process.

Influ2, a person-based advertising (PBA) platform provider, secured $8 million in Series A funding led by Rally Ventures. Ryan Barretto, President of Sprout Social, also participated with a personal investment.

Influ2’s PBA solution enables marketers to serve ads to specific decision-makers via display or social networks. Its person-based insights aim to provide sales teams with valuable insights that drive engagement within target accounts. The company plans to invest the funding into product development and continue its U.S. and team expansion. Specifically, the investment will enable Influ2 to build an end-to-end Buying Group Marketing (BGM) solution designed to help businesses monitor engagement and sentiment across buying groups.

“At the heart of ABM is a buying group that ultimately makes the decisions,” said Dmitri Lisitski, CEO and Co-founder of Influ2, in a statement.  “That’s why we developed Influ2 — to give B2B marketers the power to reach key decision-makers at their target accounts. This investment will help Influ2 extend beyond advertising, allowing marketers to achieve more precision by extending their BGM approach more holistically across their programs.”
